Bae Su-ji, or popularly known as Bae Suzy, is a South Korean singer, actress and model. She became famous after debuting in the JYP Entertainment group, Miss A.

She later expanded her career into acting and gained even more fame through starring in dramas such as Dream High (2010), Uncontrollably Fond (2016), While You Were Sleeping (2017) and many more.

Career

Bae Suzy first entered the entertainment industry through an audition. She participated in Superstar K in 2009 up until the preliminary round.

She was eventually eliminated, but managed to catch the attention of JYP Entertainment. The girl from Gwangju soon joined the company as a trainee.

In 2010, she became a member of girl group Miss A. They had their debut in July, releasing their first single Bad Girl Good Girl. The song peaked at number 1 on Gaon Digital Chart.

Miss A would go on to be one of the most successful groups of their generation. They have 2 more number 1 singles with Goodbye Baby (2011) and Only You (2015).

Their studio albums A Class released in 2011 and Hush released in 2013 were also really well-received by the critics and general public.

Other than being part of Miss A, Suzy also has some acting projects. In 2011, she made her acting debut in TV series Dream High.

Just a year later, this Libra woman also had her big screen debut in Architecture 101. The film was a massive commercial success.

In the next few years, she further cemented her position in the industry. She starred in the historical drama Gu Family Book (2013) which got her huge acting recognition.

She was also in the film The Sound of a Flower (2015), Uncontrollably Fond (2016), and While You Were Sleeping (2017).

Suzy is also still active in the music industry. In 2017, she had her debut as a solo artist with the release of album Yes? No?. Her prerelease single titled Pretend got an all-kill on the music charts.

In December 2017, JYP Entertainment announced the disbandment of Miss A.

However, Suzy would continue to work under the agency for another 2 years. She eventually left in March 2019 after her contract expired.

This actress would then sign with Management SOOP. Under the new agency, she continued to have massive success as an artist and an actress.
