Dawon took her first footstep into being a singer when she decided to join a show called K-Pop Star 2 several years ago.
Unfortunately, she couldn’t pass the audition after she did the first round. She then chose another path to be an idol by joining Starship Entertainment as a trainee.
After a long work and a long waiting, she finally was announced to be one of WJSN members in late 2015.
On 31st December 2015, she was also announced as a part of the WJSN sub-unit, Natural, alongside Mei Qi and Luda.
Two months later, on 25th February 2016, she then finally made her first debut alongside the group by releasing the debut EP, Would You Like?.
