Jung Woo started his debut as an actor by taking minor roles in the movies Running 7 Dogs (2001), Conduct Zero (2002), A Good Lawyer’s Wife (2003), and The President’s Last Bang (2005).
In 2005, he also tried his luck on the small screen by joining the cast of two drama series, Princess Lulu and Sad Love Story.

His second breakthrough came in 2013 when he starred in the popular drama series Reply 1994 and even had a recurring role that he played again in the 2014 version of the same series.
That very year, which is 2013, he returned to the big screen with the movie Red Family alongside actress Kim Yoo Mi, whom he later dated and married.
