Kwak Dong Yeon made his acting debut in 2012 with the drama series My Husband Got a Family. The series was a success and even had a rating of 49.6%.

For his debut performance, he won the Best Young Actor nomination at the Korea Drama Awards that very same year. It was a huge achievement considering he just debuted.

After that, he frequently appeared in a lot of drama series such as Hwa Jung (2015), Modern Farmer (2014), Inspiring Generation (2014), and Adolescence Medley (2013).

In 2016, he earned more acknowledgment after co-starring in the hit drama series Love in the Moonlight, playing the role of a gifted fighter named Kim Byung Yeon.

He then took the supporting role in two more drama series, Reunited Worlds and Radio Romance. Both series were released in 2017 and 2018 respectively.

Two years later, he decided to leave FNC Entertainment and joined H& Entertainment. He featured in another hit drama series Vincenzo, a year after switching agencies.
