Kwon Sang Woo officially debuted as an actor in 2001 with the TV series Delicious Proposal, where he played the role of a delivery guy.

That year, he likewise struck his first movie project by starring in the movie titled Volcano High, which is a South Korean action-comedy movie.

His first breakthrough came in 2003 when he was offered a role in the lighthearted comedy movie My Tutor Friend featuring actress Kim Ha Neul.

He then established his position as a rising actor with his amazing performance in the popular TV series Stairway to Heaven (2003).

The series had high ratings and gathered a lot of love from viewers during its run. It soon shot him to fame in a short amount of time.
