Career

Jang Geun Suk initially started his career in the entertainment industry by becoming a child model when he was just 6 years old.

Four years later, when he was 10 years old, he finally debuted as an actor in Selling Happiness (1997), a sitcom that was aired on HBS.

Starting from there, this Leo actor later continued working in television as a child actor. But during high school, he took a break for a while because of his studies in New Zealand.

After some time, he then came back to South Korea because of a job offer. Geun Suk later made his acting comeback in Nonstop 4 (2003), an MBC sitcom.

Two years later, Geun Suk got his career breakthrough after portraying the character of the president’s son for Lovers in Prague (2005).

His popularity then continued after he appeared in the Japanese horror movie, One Missed Call Finale (2006), which later was followed by his role in the KBS2 historical drama, Hwang Jin-yi, in the same year.

Years after years, Geun Suk became more popular after acting in various genres, such as The Happy Life (2007), Doremifasolasido (2008), and The Case of Itaewon Homicide (2009).

He then came back to the big screen movies in 2011 by appearing in Budapest Diary and You’re My Pet.

After that, he became more active acting in drama series, such as in Love Rain (2012), Pretty Man (2013), The Royal Gambler (2016), A Korean Odyssey (2017), and Switch (2018).

In 2023, Geun Suk finally came back as an actor by acting in Decoy.
