Jeong Jaehyun, more known by his stage name Jaehyun, is a South Korean singer and actor. He’s best recognized as the member of NCT, a K-Pop boy group managed by SM Entertainment.

Aside from being member of NCT, Jaehyun’s also active as the member of sub-units NCT 127 and NCT DoJaeJung, a solo singer who has released two singles, as well as the leading actor of Dear. M (2022).

Career

Jeong Jaehyun started his career as a trainee under SM Entertainment. After years of training, he was chosen to be a part of the boy group NCT, which debuted in 2016.

With NCT, Jaehyun managed to make a name for himself. His talents in singing, rapping, and dancing are widely acknowledged by the Korean general public.

In 2021, before his much-anticipated acting debut, he made one more achievement in his profession as he was delegated as the new ambassador of the top-of-the-line Italian brand Prada.

After that, he was scheduled to make his first appearance as an actor in the drama series Dear. M (2021). Unfortunately, the series had to be postponed from airing due to some circulating scandals.

However, that did not stop Jaehyun from pursuing a career as an actor as he landed another lead role in the drama series Bungee Jumping (2022).

Hanging Out with His Idol Friends During Resurgence of COVID-19

On May 2020, Jaehyun along with some of his celebrities friends which include Jungkook (BTS), Cha Eunwoo (Astro), and Mingyu (Seventeen), were spotted at an outing in Itaewon area.

Their respective agencies, including SM Entertainment, confirmed the report and apologized for the incident.

A Korean news outlet, Dispatch, reported that the group of friends had hung out at a restaurat and a couple of bars from evening to dawn in April 25 to April 26. Shortly, there was a confirmed case of COVID-19 patient who visited the area around May 2.

The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters requested anyone who paid visits to entertainment facilities around the area between April 26 to May 6 to do temporal quarantine. However, the four idols were confirmed by their agencies to be tested negative for the COVID-19.

Jaehyun also posted a handwritten apology letter on Instagram page, expressing his regret and announcing his reflection over his carelessness of hanging out at “a restaurant and bar in Itaewon, despite it being a period of social distancing.”

He concluded the apology by promising to be more careful and cautions about his actions.
