Career

Stefanie Joosten, who grew up as a fan of otaku culture, decided to enroll at Leiden University and study Japanese language and culture after she was done with her Dutch and English study.

In 2009, she participated in a student exchange program to Kyoto, Japan. This what encouraged her to relocate to Tokyo after finishing her study in the Netherlands.

In Japan, she began working under multiple modeling agencies that employed Western models in 2011. She mostly did commercials modeling and occasionally booked for minor acting roles.

However, later, she received a call from an unidentified agent who was searching for models to work with them in a confidential video game project.

Turned out, she recognized some people during the auditions as a fan of Japanese games during the audition. That’s how Stefanie got herself involved with Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain in 2015.

Since then, she worked with a lot of video games projects, including Spacelords (2017) and Wanted: Dead (2023).

Outside of her career as a model and actress, Joosten also ventured into music. She made debut as a singer with an album entitled Singing to the Sky (2022), followed by another album titled Intermission (2023).
