Ryu Hyun Kyung is a South Korean actress and director. Throughout her career, she has many notable movie and drama titles that have brought her popularity.

She is popular for her role in The Servant (2010), Mama (2011), Two Weddings and a Funeral (2012), and also Miss Cherry’s Love Puzzle (2013).

Career

Even though at first Ryu Hyun Kyung wanted to be a rapper, she debuted as an actress in 1996 by appearing in an SBS drama, Oxtail Soup.

Not long after that, after trying some time to become an actress, she later wanted to give it a try to be a rapper.

There was a time when she turned down the offer to be a rapper from YG Entertainment when she was attending Jinusean’s signing event.

The reason behind her rejection to be a rapper was because she didn’t want to ruin her rising acting career.

Hyun Kyung later continued her acting journey by appearing in various dramas and movies, such as Marriage is a Crazy Thing (2002), North Korean Guys (2003), and The Divine Weapon (2008).

In 2009, she started to direct a short film, Kwang Tae’s Basic Story, which later was followed by her directing project for Heart Robber (2010).

In the same year, she gained more recognition after her breathtaking acting in The Servant (2010), and she was continued by her lead roles in Mama (2011), Two Weddings and a Funeral (2012), and Miss Cherry’s Love Puzzle (2013).

She was also active in drama series, such as Empress Ki (2013), Oh My Ghost (2015), 20th Century Boy and Girl (2017), Feel Good to Die (2018), and Doctor Detective (2019).

Her career then was continued by her amazing appearances in Perhaps Love (2021), Life Is Beautiful (2022), Fairy (2022), and Cheer Up (2022).
