Eugene first started her career in the music industry back in 1997. She became a member of the group S.E.S. They made their debut in of that year with the album I’m Your Girl.

Their debut album turned out to be a massive success, becoming one of the bestselling albums in South Korea.

The next albums Sea & Eugene & Shoo (1998), Love (1999), and A Letter from Greenland (2000) are also quite successful.

After experiencing massive success, this singer decided to part ways with the agency SM Entertainment. This resulted in the group disbandment in 2002.

Afterwards, Eugene began to turn into acting. She had her debut in 2002 with the TV series Loving You.

She then took several more roles in Save The Last Dance for Me (2004), Wonderful Life (2005), and I Really Really Like You (2006).
