What is AFC?
American Football Conference, or also known as AFC is a part of two conferences of the National Football League (NFL), which is the highest level of American football professionals in America.
AFC contains 16 teams which are divided into 4 divisions, North Division Teams, East Division Teams, South Division Teams, and West Division Teams.
AFC, which originally was known as American Football League (AFL), merged itself with National Football League (NFL) back in the previous 1970.
At that time, all the AFL teams with the merge of 3 NFL teams became the teams of the new AFC, while the remaining 13 NFL teams became the new NFC.

Differences Between AFC vs NFC
1. AFC is short for American Football Conference while NFC is short for National Football Conference
American Football Conference (AFC) is formerly known as American Football League (AFL) and finally became one of the two National Football League (NFL) conferences in 1970.
AFC is currently divided into 16 teams which are distributed into 4 divisions, so there are 4 teams in each division.
On the other hand, NFC (National Football Conference) originally had the name National Football League but changed its name after the merger of NFL and AFL in 1970.
Similar to AFC, NFC itself also contains 16 teams which are divided into 4 divisions with 4 teams in each division.
2. AFC has 21 Super Bowl championships, meanwhile, NFC already has 24 Super Bowl championships
In each season, both AFC and NFC have their unique regulations in terms of their championship.
In each division, a team will play in a match against another team. That match will be conducted twice each season.
After that, the top 6 teams from both the NFC and AFC will have an opportunity to play against each other.
Those teams will play in Super Bowl championships, in which NFC already has 24 championships while AFC has 21 championships.

On the other hand, the most valuable team in NFC is Dallas Cowboys from East Division Teams.
Not only in NFC, but this team is also the most valuable team in NFL for successfully making $2.3 billion and earning 8 titles.

East Division Teams have successfully built the 2 most powerful and valuable football teams in NFL from both NFC and AFC.

7. NFC teams in their West Division Teams are divided into Seattle Seahawks to Arizona Cardinals while AFC praises Denver Broncos to Las Vegas Raiders
West Division Teams are pretty good at doing their play football matches for both NFC and AFC.
There are 4 powerful teams in NFC from the West Division Teams, such as Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers, and Seattle Seahawks.
On the other hand, AFC is also powerful by providing its West Division Teams.

8. In the AFC championships, the winner would get Lamar Hunt Trophy but the winner of the NFC championships would receive the George Halas Trophy
Lamar Hunt Trophy is a trophy that is given to the winners of the American Football Conferences (AFC) championships, which originally was inspired by the principal founder of the American Football League (AFL).
Similar to Lamar Hunt Trophy, the George Halas Trophy is also exclusively prized for the winners of the NFC Championships.
The name of the trophy itself was inspired by the first founder of NFC, George S. Halas, who had already done so much for the league.
