Anna Sawai is a New Zealand-Japanese actress, singer, and dancer. She is well-known after appearing in the F9 (2021) movie.

Career

Anna Sawai embarked on her acting journey at a tender age. Her mother is an opera performer and turned into a piano teacher, nurturing her musical talents from a young age.

Soon after arriving in Japan in 2004, she was cast as Annie, the title character in the Nippon TV production of the same name, at the age of 11. Her role as Annie was televised on Nippon TV, which served as her acting debut.

She debuted as Kiriko in the 2009 neo-noir martial arts film Ninja Assassin directed by James McTeigue.

Her portrayal of a young, rebellious ninja attracted notice and paved the way for her subsequent pursuits.

Apart from acting, she is also well-known as a singer. From 2013 to 2018, she gained fame in Japan as one of the lead vocalists of the girl group Faky. Her musical talent and captivating presence contributed to the group’s success.

However, her international breakthrough came later in 2021 when she portrayed Elle in F9, the ninth movie in the Fast & Furious franchise. She continues to shine in the entertainment industry by starring in some series.
