Lee Kyu Hyung started his acting career by joining a crew to play in the theater while going to college and finishing his mandatory military service.

In the wake of graduating, he kept on acting in theater, as well as showing up in musicals. It was in 2001 that he finally made his debut on the screen.

His first on-screen role was in the movie Kick the Moon (2001). He was given a minor role, but it was enough to kickstart his career and for him to become known.

After that, he has since featured in two more movies titled Castaway on the Moon and Large and Small City. Both movies were released in 2009.

In 2013, he showed up in yet another movie, The Face Reader, after getting a call from a friend that the original actor seemed to have a punctured tire and could not come to set.

As for his career on the small screen, he started it with the drama series Unkind Ladies in 2015. Then, it was closely followed by the drama series Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth.
