Arrested and Charged with Murder
In May 3 2016, as reported by WAFB Baton Rouge, he and two other people were outside of a Baker, Louisana’s supermarket.
They confronted a man whose name Richard Philip, who at that time was handing out party fliers in the parking lot.
It wasn’t clear why they started arguing, but it resulted in MacArthur shooting Richard in the chest, which caused him die of injury.
He was arrested later on the same day, as well as the vehicle he brought with the other two. He was charged with an illegal use of a weapon, second-degree murder, and obstruction of justice.
As cited from the report, they originally planed to claim that the victim was armed. That being said, police found out that Richard didn’t have a weapon on him through surveillance footage.
MacArthur bail was set at $370 thousand. Apparently he was released and since there, there hasn’t any update to the case.
