Jung Kyung Ho is a South Korean actor.

He became popular due to his appearance in various drama series such as Gangster High (2006), Missing Nine (2017), Prison Playbook (2017), and Hospital Playlist (2020-2021).

Career

Even though Jung Kyung Ho is the son of the formerly famous TV director, Jung Eul Young, initially his father didn’t agree with his life’s choice as an actor.

Didn’t want to stop because of his father’s disagreement, Kyungho decided to defy his father’s wishes and moved out of his home.

After moving out, Kyungho attended a theater department at his university and was inspired by his senior’s stage performance, Ha Jung Woo, which later advised him to join the 2003 KBS actors’ audition.

Surprisingly, Kyungho passed the audition and successfully signed with SidusHQ. One year later, he then made his acting debut by appearing in Sweet 18, You Will Know, 5 Stars, and Sorry, I Love You as a small character.

His career breakthrough began after he played his first leading role in Gangster High (2006), which later was followed by his acting appearance in Time Between Dog and Wolf (2007).

Kyungho later tried different characters by choosing a historical drama for his appearance in Princess Ja-Myung (2009), which was derived from the folktale Prince Hodong and the Princess of Nakrang.

This Virgo actor later continued his career by appearing in Heartless City (2013), Endless Love (2014), One More Happy Ending (2016), Missing Nine (2017), and Prison Playbook (2017) which gained him a lot of popularity and praise from movie critics.

After that, Kyungho then starred in Life on Mars (2018), When the Devil Calls Your Name (2009), Hospital Playlist (2020-2021), and The Great Dancer (2022).

Quotes

“I think my portrayal of the character, now that I’m in my 40s, has become deeper … stronger and more natural. I didn’t intentionally try to do something different, but (my acting) has become more flexible than before.”

“Looking back, I’ve been playing agitated and sensitive characters for the past eight years. I used to think I needed to break away from that box. But one day, I was monitoring my acting as Choi Chi-yeol and I felt I was doing something different than my previous roles.”

“I’ve been dating someone for over eight years, so I think that Choi Sooyoung is what has made me who I am. I’ve become a person while doing what Sooyoung tells me to do and not doing what she tells me not to do. Things like washing my hands before I eat, brushing my teeth before I sleep, not drinking a lot, and wearing neat and attractive clothes. So I have to listen to what my girlfriend says.
