Shin Ha Kyun was cast in the 1998 movie The Happenings and had since appeared in other movies. Appreciated for her skills, he was then offered a role in the movie Coming Out (2000).
Later, he started to become a superstar in late 2000 when he appeared in the movie Joint Security Area. This helped make his next movie, Guns & Talks, a huge commercial success.
