“I don’t really think genres are that important […] Genres are just a categorization that makes it easy for people to approach a work. Personally, I don’t want to act with genres in mind. I would rather focus on expressing the character as clearly as possible.”

“What makes a deep impression on me is how people react to the work. When people tell me what they liked, what they gained comfort and strength from, what made them take heart. I try to remember the reactions of people who enjoyed my work rather than the work itself.”

“More people remember me not for my acting but for the issues. However, what I can do is to work hard in acting to become an actor remembered again. I’ll do my best with what I’m given and fill it with good things, so it won’t be repeated. This is probably a crucial goal for my life.”

“[My favorite season is] fall. Rather than extreme heat or cold, I think the moderate chilliness makes it a season that makes you miss the warmth of people just the right amount.”
